Solid Food Waste

Hornigold has been operating in solid food waste transportation since 1981 and has fine-tuned its services to be experts in their field.

Hornigold Haulage understand that many companies face the problem of disposing of food waste and work with businesses across the UK to ensure that food waste is appropriately collected and transported efficiently, safely and cost effectively.

The UK produces approximately 15 million tonnes of food waste per year, with businesses in the food production sector responsible for just under half this.

Solid waste is described as food material for disposal from point of sale or distribution centres excluding liquid dairy or any waste liquid. Solid food waste is usually fruit, vegetables, dry packaged goods or processed foods such as ready meals, sandwiches or bread products. This waste may include foods that are no longer intended for human consumption

We operate 7 days a week and 24 hours a day and can use an artic trailer or rigid vehicle to transport waste sources of either loose material in bulkers, skips, roro’s or palletised goods in curtainsider trailers to the disposal point throughout the country.

We currently work for both food producers who generate waste and over production. We also work for disposal sites and plants that gather waste products for their processes.

We have specialist staff who are used to handling waste products with dedicated equipment and vehicles. All food waste transportation vehicles are fitted with the necessary equipment, along with the facility of being able to be tracked at any time offering complete traceability of all your products.
